The Minister of Children’s Services is proud to announce support for Alberta Families!
Who is it for? Children attending Les petits oursons daycare.
What exactly? saving on child care services that meet your family’s needs.
How do we do it? By providing accessibility subsidies directly to all children’s services offered by the Conseil scolaire Centre-Est in all our school so that it can reduce costs for all parents and by increasing the income threshold for the child care subsidy to $180,000 so that more families can benefit.
The result? All parents will pay significantly less for child care in 2022.

New Pricing
We have received good news from Children Services regarding the reduction of fees for our daycare center thanks to an “Affordability Grant” agreement with the provincial government!
For more information on the agreement: https://www.alberta.ca/federal-provincial-child-care-agreement.aspx
The discount amounts per month are as follows as of January 1, 2022:
- Toddlers (under 19 months) Full-time – $635
- Toddlers (19 months to 3 years) Full-time – $510
- Preschoolers (3 years to kindergarten) Full time – $450
Here is an example if you have a 2 year old child who is enrolled in Les Petits Oursons daycare full time and you have applied for the parental subsidy:
Fee per month: $1166,99
Toddler subsidy: $510
Parental subsidy*: 200$ (fictitious amount for the example and to demonstrate the importance of applying!)
Bill for the month: 456,99$ to pay, 65% fee reduction for the parent
* The parent must apply online to receive the parental subsidy. The amount is determined by the annual salary, so can vary from $106 to $266/month.
For more information on the parent grant: https://www.alberta.ca/child-care-subsidy.aspx
In order to maintain the quality of service, the mandatory fee will be $1166,99/month to maintain a space for your child at the full-time daycare, despite absences. We must maintain this guideline since we must be able to pay for the educators’ salaries and benefits, resources, meals and maintenance of the daycare. We are fortunate to not have to pay rent or maintenance for our beautiful outdoor courtyard, not to mention free access to the gym!
Still, with the reduced fees and the parental subsidy (parent must apply), the monthly bill will be reduced by between 40 and 50%!
